tree (Broussonetia papyrifera) is a deciduous tree that
has been grown for its fiber for about 5,000 years.
- It naturally
grows in China, Korea, Thailand, Pakistan and SE Asia. It
is also cultivated on some South Pacific islands and some
parts of the US, Europe and South America.
- Other names
for this tree species include Kalivon, Halibun, Dak, Kozo,
and Tapacloth tree.
- Mature tree
bark is harvested for paper making.
